Her mother, Rania Maria Santos, fulfilled a promise by dressing her daughter as Our Lady of Aparecida for the discharge and planned to walk on her knees to the exit. Maria Alicia was born at 30 weeks gestation, weighing only 970 grams, and required immediate ICU care. Her mother found strength in her faith during the difficult period, especially after hearing doctors express concerns about her daughter's survival. The baby's birth coincided with the Catholic feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. Rania expressed profound gratitude for her daughter's recovery and the lessons learned during the ordeal.
