Prague Begins Construction on Second Phase of Metro Line D from Olbrachtova to Nové Dvory
V Praze tento týden se zpožděním oficiálně začala hlavní stavba druhé části linky metra D z Olbrachtovy na Nové Dvory. Slavnostního zahájení se v pátek zúčastnili zástupci hlavního města, jeho dopravního podniku (DPP) či stavebních firem. Přípravné práce na nové etapě začaly v dubnu poté, co DPP podepsal smlouvu za asi třicet miliard korun bez DPH se sdružením vedeným firmou Subterra. Linka D propojí Písnici s náměstím Míru a odlehčí dopravě na jihu metropole.
The official construction of the second phase of Prague's Metro Line D, connecting Olbrachtova to Nové Dvory, has commenced with a delay. Representatives from the city, its transport company (DPP), and construction firms attended the inauguration ceremony. Preparatory work for this new stage began in April after DPP signed a contract worth approximately 30 billion Czech crowns (excluding VAT) with a consortium led by Subterra. Metro Line D is designed to link Písnice with Náměstí Míru, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion in the southern parts of the capital. The project's commencement marks a significant step in Prague's public transport development.
This development is crucial for Prague's urban planning and transportation infrastructure, promising improved connectivity and reduced traffic in the southern districts.
