The search for the bodies of Alisher Mirzonabot, the head of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO), and his companions continues for the third day. Their vehicle fell into the Panj River in the Darvaz district on June 17. Rescue teams from the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) are conducting extensive search operations both on the surface and underwater in the Shamsiddin Shohin district. The group included Mirzonabot, his wife, their two-year-old daughter, his assistant, and the driver. Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and other high-ranking officials have expressed their condolences. Mirzonabot was a respected figure, serving as deputy chairman of the Majlisi Milli and head of GBAO. The accident occurred on the Dushanbe-Khorog highway.
