The assault reportedly resulted in the deaths of eleven members of the security forces and two civilians. The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing "firm condemnation and deep denunciation" of the attack, reaffirming its solidarity with the Nigerien government and people during this "painful ordeal." Algeria reiterated its support for Niger's authorities in their fight against terrorism and pledged to strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation to counter threats to peace and security in the shared regional space. Nigerien media reported that security forces killed 22 terrorists involved in the attack earlier on Thursday.
