Andhra Pradesh Schools Partner with Canva for Free Design Tools
Canva for Education will be free for students, teachers and officials, and is proposed to link with the State’s LEAP app and Chromebook system
The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Canva, a global online design platform, to integrate its educational tools into government schools across the state. This partnership will provide free access to Canva for Education for students, teachers, and education officials, aiming to enhance digital literacy and creativity. The initiative will enable users to create presentations, projects, and other visual learning materials, potentially integrating with the state's LEAP app and Google Workspace. Teachers will receive training through a Training of Trainers (ToT) model, with a focus on responsible AI tool usage in classrooms. The SCERT will develop curriculum-aligned templates in Telugu and English to support Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) goals. The project, emphasizing privacy safeguards and teacher-managed AI features, will be rolled out in four phases.
