Life Sentence for Main Accused in Death of 11-Year-Old Marios

The Athens Mixed Jury Court has unanimously sentenced the main defendant to life imprisonment for the death of 11-year-old Marios Souloukou. The court found no mitigating circumstances for the accused, following the prosecutor's recommendation. Marios died from a stray bullet in the schoolyard nearly ten years ago. The prosecutor had described the act as having "great societal depreciation" and deemed life imprisonment the only appropriate sentence.
