Boiler Explosion at Narayanganj Garment Factory Injures 7 Workers; Protests Erupt

Seven workers were injured in a boiler explosion at the Nirjhor Knitwear garment factory in Fatullah, Narayanganj, on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 9 AM, causing significant damage to the boiler room and scattering materials. The injured workers were transported to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. Following the explosion, factory workers protested, demanding compensation, medical care, and improved workplace safety. They blocked the Dhaka-Narayanganj old road for about an hour, causing a major traffic jam. Workers alleged that the boiler was old and had not been replaced despite repeated requests to management. Police intervened, and the factory management assured that they would cover the injured workers' medical expenses and ensure safety, leading to the lifting of the blockade.
