Two Serbian nationals have been arrested for allegedly defrauding a 73-year-old woman of €50,000 by promising to remove 'black magic' and solve her family problems. The suspects, identified as D.N. (born 1974) and M.K. (born 1967), advertised their services on the website 'vidovita-maria.com.' They convinced the victim that they could help with her family and health issues, charging her jewelry and cash totaling €50,000 for these supposed services. Police recovered various jewelry items and receipts during a search of a house in Bačka Palanka. The suspects have been detained for 48 hours and will be handed over to the Novi Sad Public Prosecutor's Office. This incident is similar to a €175,000 scam reported in Slovenia.
This arrest highlights a sophisticated scam preying on vulnerable individuals, demonstrating the need for public awareness regarding fraudulent 'magic removal' services.
