The chairperson of the Health Committee in North Macedonia's Parliament, Rashela Mizrahi, announced that experts will be consulted regarding amendments to the proposed anti-smoking bill. The goal is to ensure these amendments align with European Union directives. The committee suspended its discussion on the bill, which aims to protect against the use of tobacco and related products, to seek expert opinions on all eight submitted amendments. Mizrahi emphasized the need for effective, policy-driven changes rather than purely political ones, especially for a reform law with European implications. The bill's provisions include a ban on advertising and promotion of tobacco products. Further sessions will be scheduled following the expert consultations.
