He emphasized that these fires cause extensive damage to the environment and economy, costing billions of dollars annually. Ndokosho highlighted that fires destroy tourism assets, grazing land, and pose risks to human life. He stressed the need for a collective approach to manage fire incidents, particularly during dry seasons. Ndokosho cautioned against careless fire practices, especially in areas prone to rapid spread. He urged for public awareness campaigns and education on proper fire management techniques. Governor Hofni Iipinge of Ohangwena Region echoed the call for collaboration, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in fire prevention strategies.
