LONDON, UK: Tanzania’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mr Mbelwa Kairuki, met and held talks with the Speaker of the UK Parliament, Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle, at the Speaker’s official residence on 18 June 2026. Tanzania's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mbelwa Kairuki, met with UK Parliament Speaker Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle to strengthen bilateral relations. Discussions focused on education, trade, investment, science, technology, and parliamentary cooperation. High Commissioner Kairuki informed the Speaker about Tanzania's preparations to host the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Arusha in October 2026. The Speaker expressed support for the event and reaffirmed commitment to enhancing cooperation. Earlier, Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba also held talks with the British Ambassador to Tanzania regarding diplomatic and development cooperation.
These high-level discussions underscore the commitment to deepening diplomatic and economic ties between Tanzania and the United Kingdom.
