Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Urges Media to Uphold Truth and Justice

Shfiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, has urged the media to uphold truth and justice, stating that a free press prevents the rise of fascism. Rahman also highlighted the need for a just legal system where everyone, regardless of wealth, receives fair treatment. He questioned the effectiveness of recent tax reductions, arguing they have not lowered the prices of essential goods, suggesting the presence of market syndicates with political backing. He stressed that political parties must ensure their members adhere to social norms to maintain moral authority. The Jamaat leader also addressed the issue of extortion across the country, calling for its eradication. He called for a Bangladesh where citizens can live with peace and dignity.
