French Schools to Introduce Weekly AI Hour for Second-Year Students Starting 2027

Starting in the 2027 academic year, French second-year secondary students (élèves de 2de) will receive one hour of instruction per week dedicated to Artificial Intelligence. The curriculum will cover AI model functioning, usage, ethics, digital sovereignty, and critical thinking regarding manipulation and misinformation, aiming to prepare young people for the future.
This initiative reflects a proactive approach by the French government to equip students with essential knowledge and critical skills for navigating an increasingly AI-driven world.
