At least three people were killed and six injured following Russian shelling of the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk late Friday afternoon, according to Ukrainian Pravda. Donetsk Oblast Governor Vadym Filashkin reported the attack occurred after an earlier Russian strike around midday. Multiple residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged in Kramatorsk. Earlier, Russian forces attacked the city of Pavlohrad, killing an eight-year-old girl and injuring a 49-year-old woman. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanja stated that the attack caused fires in two houses, one of which was destroyed. Russian forces also reportedly attacked multiple cities in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight with drones and artillery, damaging a post office, homes, and a sports school. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Vladimir Putin might intensify attacks due to political and military weakness, urging citizens to heed air raid warnings and use shelters.
These renewed Russian attacks underscore the ongoing severity of the conflict in Ukraine, resulting in civilian casualties and destruction, and raising concerns about potential escalation.
