Starting Sunday, June 21, 2026, sections of Panamericana Norte in Quito, specifically between the Carcelén Interchange and Calle Del Hierro, will experience lane closures due to road rehabilitation work. This will alter traffic flow in the northern part of the city. The project aims to improve the infrastructure of this high-traffic artery. For the initial 10 days, crews will focus on the critical segment from the Carcelén Interchange to Calle N76. To mitigate congestion, a dynamic contraflow system will be implemented, adjusting lane usage based on real-time traffic demand. The rehabilitation involves milling the existing surface, stabilizing the ground, and applying a new asphalt layer over approximately one kilometer. The goal is to enhance circulation standards.
