Ecuador has trained over 3,000 environmental promoters across 23 provinces as part of the 'Ecosieaa – Mi Comunidad Verde' project. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, aims to enhance environmental education and citizen participation in conservation. The program facilitated 163 community-led projects focused on environmental protection and resource management. It aligns with the National Environmental Education Strategy, promoting sustainable practices from the community level. Recent graduates from the Unidad Educativa Aloasí participated in activities like community cleanups and ecological mural creation, translating education into concrete environmental actions.
The establishment of a large network of environmental promoters signifies Ecuador's commitment to grassroots conservation and empowers communities to actively participate in protecting their environment.
