Ecuador's Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) has declared a state of emergency for the E59 Cuenca-Girón-Pasaje highway following landslides that occurred on June 9th. The declaration, effective for 60 days, aims to expedite resource allocation for repairs. An initial budget of $1.2 million has been allocated for clearing debris, stabilizing slopes, and repairing the road surface.
