Home Minister Launches 'Abhigyan' App for Real-Time Fingerprint Scanning by Police

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a new application named 'Abhigyan' designed to empower police forces with on-the-go fingerprint scanning capabilities. This app will allow police officers to scan thumb impressions collected via portable scanners and instantly cross-reference them with the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) database. The Home Minister stated that this technological advancement will significantly strengthen ground-level policing by enabling rapid identification of individuals. The 'Abhigyan' app is expected to expedite investigations and enhance the efficiency of law enforcement operations across the country.
