A driver was shot on Friday after reportedly ignoring a police order to stop and attempting to evade a roadblock on Avenida Assis Ribeiro in São Paulo's East Zone. According to military police, the individual drove their vehicle towards officers. In response to the perceived imminent threat, police fired shots to stop the vehicle. The driver sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The condition and identity of the driver have not yet been released. A bag containing a substance resembling narcotics was found inside the vehicle and has been sent for forensic analysis. The incident is under investigation.
