Police in Pereiras, São Paulo, have arrested a 61-year-old man suspected of sexually abusing his daughter. The alleged crimes occurred when the victim was between six and seven years old, constituting statutory rape. According to the lead detective, the family did not report the abuse at the time. However, the victim contacted the police as an adult after her father re-initiated contact and expressed a desire to see her. The father allegedly sent sexually harassing audio messages. An arrest warrant was issued and executed on the same day. The suspect has been transferred to a custodial center in Botucatu.
