A woman has been sentenced to 47 years and 10 months in prison for the attempted murder of her ex-partner and stepdaughter in Populina, São Paulo. The verdict was delivered by a jury, which also ordered her to pay R$ 15,000 in damages to the victims. The prosecution argued that the defendant committed the crimes due to her inability to accept the end of her three-year relationship and her ex-partner's new relationship. The attacks occurred on July 2nd, 2025, after which the woman fled to her hometown. She was apprehended shortly after. The victims, aged 31 and 14 at the time, survived the assault, though the stepdaughter sustained injuries requiring surgery and affecting hand movement. The sentence is subject to appeal.
