In a unique event coinciding with the World Cup, high school students from Sesi-SP participated in a state-level RoboCup Junior Soccer Infrared competition in Itu, São Paulo. This tournament replaces human players with autonomous robots capable of making independent decisions on the field. Fifty-two students from 13 schools engaged in the competition, applying their knowledge of programming, electronics, mechanics, and engineering to develop sophisticated machines. Unlike remotely controlled robots, these machines operate entirely autonomously after programming. The robots use infrared signals to locate the ball and navigate the field independently. Organizers emphasize that the competition fosters technical and behavioral skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, inspired by real-world challenges and the excitement of the World Cup.
This event highlights the integration of technology and education, fostering future innovators in robotics and programming.
