El Salvador Seizes Over Six Tonnes of Cocaine in Pacific Ocean, President Declares New National Record

Authorities in El Salvador have intercepted a substantial shipment of cocaine in the Pacific Ocean, confiscating over six tonnes of the illicit drug. President Nayib Bukele announced the record-breaking seizure on June 19, stating that the drugs were found aboard two vessels the previous day. Each vessel carried approximately three tonnes of cocaine and three crew members. The estimated value of the seized narcotics exceeds $167 million USD. President Bukele hailed the operation as a new national record, emphasizing his administration's commitment to combating drug trafficking. This seizure marks a significant success in El Salvador's ongoing war on drugs.
