Ecuador has finalized the sale of crude oil for July and August shipments, generating over $313 million in revenue. The state oil company, EP Petroecuador, awarded contracts for two international hydrocarbon marketing processes. The deal involves the export of 2,880,000 barrels of crude oil, split equally between Oriente and Napo crudes. The international benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was used as the reference price for the sales. Petroecuador invited over 35 qualified companies to ensure competitive bidding. The contracts were awarded to Petrochina International CO. LTD. for Oriente crude and Unipec America INC. for Napo crude.
