Actor Pankaj Tripathi has returned to the stage after 15 years with the musical play 'La-Ilaj,' which has been praised in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. He shared his thoughts on theater, family, acting, and life philosophy during a conversation in Mumbai. Tripathi described the play's inception as his wife, Mridula Tripathi's idea, emphasizing their desire to give back to theater. He noted that many artists involved are former National School of Drama students struggling in Mumbai, and the play provides them a platform and income. Tripathi was particularly impressed by Kolkata's audience, describing them as 'truly very enriched' with deep knowledge and enthusiasm for art and culture. He revealed that his wife manages the play's production, including providing meals for the crew, whom they consider family. Their daughter, Aashi Tripathi, made her acting debut in the play, with Tripathi asserting she will forge her own path. He expressed a special emotional connection to Kolkata, calling it his 'in-laws' place' and appreciating its food, literature, culture, and people, mentioning they now own a flat there.
