Greek Car Sales in May 2026: Hybrids Dominate, Toyota Leads

In May 2026, 26,897 new and imported used cars were registered in Greece, a 3.2% increase compared to May 2025. New car registrations reached 16,244, up 3.7% year-on-year. For the period January-May 2026, total registrations were 116,558, compared to 112,854 in the same period of 2025. Hybrid vehicles are the most popular choice, capturing 56.1% of the market share, a significant increase from 47.6% in May 2025. Gasoline-powered cars accounted for 25.8%, while diesel vehicles held only 2.6%. Toyota was the top-selling brand with 2,648 registrations, followed by Suzuki and Peugeot.
