Minister Shah Alam's Family Named on 10 Educational Institutions; Proposal for Another Under Review

A proposal to rename the 53-year-old Shibganj Pilot Girls High School in Bogura's Shibganj Upazila to 'Shibganj Mir Shahe Alam Pilot Girls High School' is under consideration. Local government, rural development, and cooperatives state minister Mir Shahe Alam has reportedly been named on ten educational institutions established or developed with his or his family's support since 1997. These include primary schools, an orphanage, a technical institute, and colleges. Despite the minister previously requesting that no institutions be named after him due to personal preference, new proposals continue to emerge. The ministry is reviewing the latest renaming proposal.
