Istanbul Taxi Drivers' Association Demands Togg Taxis, Rejects Fiat Egea Dependence

The head of the Istanbul Taxi Drivers' Chamber of Commerce, İsmet Dalcı, has expressed a strong desire for Togg vehicles to be used as taxis, moving away from the current reliance on Fiat Egea models. Dalcı stated that the Fiat Egea vehicles were acquired under obligation and that the association seeks a Togg model specifically adapted for taxi services. Key demands include a larger battery capacity and reduced costs through less digital screen usage. The association envisions all Istanbul taxis becoming electric within 4-5 years, supported by charging infrastructure. They are also developing a new digital taxi-hailing app to compete with existing services like Uber and BiTaksi.
