Farmers and traders are busy transporting jackfruits to markets via headloads, vans, and carts. The area, known as the 'jackfruit capital,' sees intense activity from dawn, with wholesalers assessing and purchasing fruits directly from orchards. Sreepur's jackfruits are highly sought after for their sweetness and fragrance, earning them Geographical Indication (GI) status in 2025. Approximately 78,000 tons are produced annually, with popular varieties including Khaja, Gala, and Dursha. Plans are underway to export Khaja variety jackfruits to Europe and the Middle East.
