Urban areas host 80% of England’s homes at high risk of flooding, study finds

The analysis indicates a threefold increase in this risk since 2018. Furthermore, the study highlights that tenants in social housing are disproportionately vulnerable to the financial burdens associated with such flood events.
This finding is significant as it points to a growing and concentrated vulnerability in urban centers, potentially impacting a large number of residents, particularly those in social housing, with severe financial consequences.
