Insilico teams up with US firm to build AI models predicting disease decades ahead
Hong Kong-listed artificial intelligence drug-discovery company Insilico Medicine has struck a collaboration with US-headquartered Human Longevity to co-develop what they describe as “the industry’s first large-scale” AI foundation models capable of predicting diseases – such as cancer – decades before clinical symptoms appear. The partnership was announced as the global longevity market, fuelled by an ageing population and rising consumption demand, was valued at about US$5.
Insilico Medicine, an AI drug discovery firm, has partnered with US-based Human Longevity to create advanced AI foundation models. These models are designed to predict the onset of diseases, including cancer, many years before any symptoms become apparent. This collaboration aims to develop what is described as the first large-scale system of its kind in the industry. The initiative leverages AI to anticipate health issues, potentially transforming preventative healthcare.
This development matters because it could enable proactive interventions and personalized medicine, significantly improving health outcomes and potentially reducing the burden of chronic diseases in the future.
