The chip outperformed over 40 competing products from major manufacturers like AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel across various quality and speed metrics. This advancement builds upon the success of the previous Canghai V1 chip, which is already deployed in over 100,000 units within Tencent's services. The new V2 chip boasts significant improvements, including support for both H.265 and H.266 encoding standards, with H.266 offering over 30% compression gains compared to V1. It also features doubled throughput and integrated quality enhancement capabilities such as super-resolution and denoising. Tencent plans to offer the Canghai V2 chip to external clients through its Media Processing Service in the latter half of 2026.
