[New Times] Minister of Interior Vincent Biruta on Thursday, May 28, officiated the closing ceremony of the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Plus Joint SWAT Training Exercise and the Advanced Police Special Force Course at the Counter Terrorism Training Center (CTTC), Mayange, in Bugesera District.
A significant joint SWAT training exercise and an advanced police special force course for the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Plus concluded in Bugesera, Rwanda. The training brought together 368 police officers from multiple African nations, focusing on enhancing regional security cooperation and response to transnational threats. Participants demonstrated a variety of advanced tactical skills, including hostage rescue and airborne operations, highlighting their operational readiness and professionalism.
Additionally, 272 trainees graduated from an advanced special force course organized by the Rwanda National Police, strengthening specialized police operations, command, and leadership capabilities. The event underscored a collective commitment to bolstering security through professional development and international partnerships.
This training is crucial for enhancing regional security cooperation and improving the capacity of East African police forces to counter evolving transnational threats.
