The Socceroos have been beaten 1-0 by Mexico in their penultimate World Cup warm up match despite an improved and impressive second-half performance at the Rose Bowl.
The Australians were poor in the first half, during which Mexico took the lead through a Johan Vasquez header from a corner.
Striker Mo Toure missed an open goal shortly before half-time, and despite improving considerably after the break the Socceroos were unable to find an equaliser.
Australia's squad for the World Cup will be confirmed at 11.30am on Monday. The Socceroos play one final warm up match against Swtizerland on June 6 before their tournament opener against Turkiye on June 14.
