2027: Ogun diaspora coalition mobilises support for Yayi

The Yayi Diaspora Movement, a coalition of Ogun State professionals and stakeholders residing in 23 countries, has expressed confidence in the capacity of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Solomon Adeola, popularly called Yayi, to advance the state’s development agenda. The group, therefore, donated a branded campaign vehicle, T-shirts, fez caps and other materials to support the governorship aspiration ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to a statement issued on Sunday by the group’s secretary, Mr Paul Abina, the campaign vehicle formed part of a broader package of support initiatives being undertaken by the movement. The statement added that the group also deployed branded caps, T-shirts, posters, banners, and billboards in strategic locations across Ogun State and other voter engagement materials aimed at promoting the vision and leadership credentials of the APC candidate. Speaking on behalf of the movement, its convener, Olusola Adisa-Adunbarin, described the intervention as a demonstration of the confidence Ogun indigenes in the diaspora have in Adeola’s leadership capacity. Adisa-Adunbarin said, “Leadership is not measured by promises alone but by a verifiable record of service, competence and commitment to the people. Senator Adeola has consistently demonstrated these qualities throughout his public service career. “As professionals living and working across 23 countries, we have observed governance models around the world, and we strongly believe that Ogun State deserves a leader with the vision, experience and capacity to accelerate development and create opportunities for all. “The branded campaign vehicle we have donated is not merely a vehicle; it is a symbol of our collective belief in a brighter future for Ogun State. “Beyond the vehicle, we are investing resources, time and energy into voter mobilisation, awareness campaigns and strategic grassroots engagement because we believe Senator Adeola represents the best path forward for our state. “Our commitment extends beyond campaign materials. Through our well-coordinated structure, with representatives in each of the 20 local government areas of Ogun State, we shall continue to mobilise support and encourage voter participation to ensure that the aspirations of our people are translated into electoral victory.” The Global Coordinator of the group, Adekunle Adegoke, commended members of the movement for their dedication and sacrifice.
