Two people have been charged after a man was shot in Mandurah early on Sunday morning.
Police were called after a 35-year-old man arrived at Peel Health Campus with a gunshot wound on his arm, before being taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which a police spokesperson described as serious but non-life-threatening.
Police allege the man was confronted by another man who was known to him outside a home on Exchequer Avenue in Greenfields, in Mandurah’s east, about 7.50am on Sunday when he was shot.
“As a result of inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Coodanup later that day, where firearm related parts were allegedly located and seized,” the police spokesperson said.
A 39-year-old Coodanup man has been charged with seven offences, including unlawful wounding, pointing a firearm at another person, unlawfully posessing a handgun or firearm, and posessing methamphetamine.
A 36-year-old woman, also from Coodanup, faces five charges, including possessing drugs with intent to sell or supply, possessing drug paraphernalia, and possessing ammunition while not authorised by a licence or permit.
The 39-year-old man was due to face Perth Magistrates Court on Monday, while the 36-year-old woman was bailed to appear before Mandurah Magistrates Court at a later date.
