Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has received the member representing Makoda State Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, Muhammad Ahmad Tomas, back into the All Progressives Congress. This he says marks another shift in Kano’s evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections. Tomas, who had recently defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, announced his return to the APC during a visit to Barau’s residence in Abuja on Monday. He was accompanied by the Executive Chairmen of Makoda and Dambatta Local Government Areas, Alhaji Isa Currency and Alhaji Jamilu Abubakar Dambatta. In a statement personally signed on Monday, Barau described Tomas’ return as timely and significant, saying it reflected a commitment to what he termed progress and good governance.
