Mandaluyong police question gun-toting man claiming to be 'general' in video

The Mandaluyong City Police have tracked down and questioned the man caught on camera pointing a gun at a motorist who parked in front of his house, while authorities await the victim"s decision to file formal charges.

The Mandaluyong City Police have tracked down and questioned the man who was caught on video with a drawn gun while confronting a motorist who parked near his house.

According to Dano Tingcungco’s report in “24 Oras” on Monday, the viral video showed that the suspect cocked his gun and called out the victim for parking near his house, despite the latter’s claim that it was his first time at the spot.

In the video, the victim can be heard saying that he’s willing to move to another place to park. However, the seemingly annoyed suspect said, “Mainit ang ulo ko! General ako (I am hot-headed! I am a general).”

The police said that the incident happened in Barangay Addition Hills last June 17. They would not share the identity of the suspect.

(When [the victim] was being asked to leave, at first it seemed like, based on the account of our suspect, [the victim asked], ‘Do you own this street?’ That is the suspect's side. According to him, their exchange did not go well. That is what pushed him to pull out a gun.)

Initial investigation by the police showed that the suspect and the victim do not know each other.

(Our suspect is just saying that a lot of people really park along that street. Because whenever the sun is hot, they park underneath the nearby tree for shade.)

The suspect, however, was not held in police custody as there was no formal complaint or blotter filed. The authorities are still tracking the victim, adding that it is open to receive any possible complaints of grave threat against the suspect.

(He was aggrieved, and of course we understand the fear. There is no prescriptive period [for him to report], because it actually happened on video that he was indeed threatened.)
