The Lagos State Government says it has completed 362 road projects spanning more than 347 kilometres since 2019 and is preparing to inaugurate 12 newly completed schemes as it pushes to conclude a fresh round of infrastructure projects across the state. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, disclosed this during the 2026 ministerial press briefing marking the third year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term in office. Daramola said work was also progressing on 181 ongoing road and bridge projects located across different parts of the state. According to him, the administration completed an additional 130 roads covering about 113.25 kilometres during the review period, alongside several bridge and transport infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity and easing movement. Among the projects delivered are the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge and its approach roads, Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road, formerly known as Dopemu Road, in Agege, Abaranje Road in Alimosho, and several road networks across Alimosho, Ikeja, Eti-Osa, Lagos Island, Kosofe, Somolu, Bariga, Epe and Badagry. The governor’s aide said the government remained committed to infrastructure expansion despite inflationary pressures and rising construction costs. “That we can deliver these projects despite the global and national economic downturn is an affirmation of the conscious effort of the administration at providing major infrastructure among the various divisions and fulfilment of our promise to the good people of the state,” he said. Daramola disclosed that a number of major projects completed by the administration are awaiting inauguration, including the rehabilitation and upgrading of sections of the Lekki-Epe corridor and strategic road infrastructure supporting economic activities around the Lekki Free Trade Zone. He said the projects were designed to improve access to key industrial investments, including the Dangote Refinery and other emerging industrial clusters along the corridor. The government has also completed several link roads and bridge projects intended to improve connectivity between previously isolated communities and provide alternative routes around congestion-prone areas. According to Daramola, completed schemes include the Abiola-Onijemo link project in Ifako-Ijaiye, Obafemi Dada in Alimosho, Arowojobe in Kosofe, and Samuel Ekundayo, as well as Imeke-Ajido-Aradagun corridors in Badagry.
