The Lagos State Government has added 19,525 square metres of office space to its public infrastructure portfolio as part of efforts to reduce dependence on rented facilities and improve working conditions for civil servants. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works, Adekunle Olayinka, disclosed this during the 2026 ministerial press briefing marking the third year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term in office. Olayinka said the additional office capacity was delivered through the completion of major government buildings, including the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex and the Revenue House within the Alausa Secretariat precinct in Ikeja. He added that the government remained committed to infrastructure-led development as a driver of economic growth, job creation and improved living standards. According to the Special Adviser, the Sanwo-Olu administration focused on completing inherited projects while initiating new investments across critical sectors, including healthcare, education, security and public administration. Olayinka also listed ongoing projects at state-owned tertiary institutions, including new lecture theatres, laboratories, office complexes and student accommodation at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology and the Lagos State University of Education.
