BJP national president Nitin Nabin launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of turning the Musi Riverfront Project into an avenue for misusing public funds and continuing what he described as the BRS’s legacy of corruption.

Addressing the BJP Telangana State executive committee meeting at Ghatkesar on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Tuesday, Mr. Nabin alleged that the “hard-earned money of the people” was being diverted for political purposes instead of public welfare. He charged that the Congress had become synonymous with corruption.

The previous BRS government had failed to rise above corruption and dynastic politics, he said citing alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project as a key reason for its downfall. The Congress government, which succeeded it, was continuing the same pattern, he claimed. The BJP leader was flanked by senior party figures, including Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, general secretary Sunil Bansal and others.

He further accused the Congress of promoting what he called the “criminalisation of politics” and alleged that it supported divisive and anti-national forces. The party, he said, continued to reveal its “true nature” through what he termed the twin issues of “corruption and criminalisation”.

“We will hold the Congress government accountable at every level — from the streets to the Legislative Assembly. The countdown to its end has begun. We will demand a full account of every rupee spent, every decision taken, and every instance of corruption,” said Mr. Nabin

Expressing confidence about the BJP’s prospects in Telangana, he said the party’s future in the St
