Aqua farmers, supported by feed shop owners, observed a bandh across the State on Tuesday (June 30, 2026) against the hike in feed prices.

Farmers cultivating Vannamei and Tiger variety shrimp, as well as different varieties of fish in the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, alleged that feed manufacturers have increased prices abnormally. “Though the government held meetings with the feed suppliers, who raised prices by ₹12 per kg, and asked them to decrease the price by ₹4 per kg, the feed companies only reduced it by ₹2 per kg,” alleged aqua farmers from Gudivada in Krishna district.

Feed shop owners from Amalapuram and Palakol in the West Godavari district reported that, with feed manufacturers hiking prices, a 25 kg bag now costs ₹2,830 in the market.

Feed shops were closed in Konaseema, Krishna, Eluru, West Godavari, and other districts as part of the bandh.
