No casualties or injuries were reported as the occupants managed to escape safely before the blaze spread. According to Fire and Emergency Services officials, an alert about the fire at a G+3 apartment building near Garuda Mall was received at 3.23 p.m. Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire broke out in a top-floor apartment occupied by a family of four. Officials suspect that a gas leak occurred while cooking was under way, causing the LPG pipe to catch fire before the flames spread to the gas cylinder. The family members managed to escape the flat safely, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading to neighbouring flats. Officials said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. A detailed investigation has been initiated to ascertain whether the blaze was caused by a gas leak or any other reason. The flat was partially damaged due to the fire, causing panic among the other occupants.
