Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer on Wednesday highlighted the importance of stronger industry-academia partnerships and multidisciplinary education, with universities taking the lead, to prepare students for a rapidly evolving economy.

Addressing the students and faculty during the first convocation of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh at Janthaluru village of Bukkarayasamudram mandal, 20 km from here, in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, the Governor said the university, established after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, has opened a new chapter in the State’s higher education landscape.

Vice-Chancellor S.A. Kori said 1,268 graduates from the 2020-26 batches received their degrees, while 56 students were awarded gold medals, including eight endowment medals.

Established in 2018, the university now has 1,472 students from 26 States and secured over ₹3.26 crore in research grants, published more than 400 research papers, and filed 24 patents, reflecting
