The lawmaker representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, has appealed to his supporters across Osun Central to remain calm and continue working for the victory of the All Progressives Congress candidate in the August 15 governorship poll, Bola Oyebamiji. Fadeyi made this known in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Digital Media and Publicity, Desmond Adekanola, obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday. The statement said the admonition followed a meeting Fadeyi held with his supporters at his campaign office in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. Addressing supporters who attended the meeting from the 10 local government areas within the Senatorial District, Fadeyi noted the party members’ displeasure with the outcome of the APC Senatorial primary election. “I know many of you are not happy with what you described as a political coup called the primary election conducted by our party. “However, concerned leaders of the party are working tirelessly, day and night, to ensure that normalcy returns in due course,” he said. He urged his supporters not to allow the outcome of the primary election to weaken their commitment to APC or derail the collective goal of reclaiming Osun State. Our strength lies in our unity, loyalty, and commitment to the progressive ideals of our great party,” he said. He insisted that the APC operates on the principle of consensus rather than primary elections, and reaffirmed the position of President Bola, “our National Leader Bisi Akande, and our leader Adegboyega Oyetola on the agreement for a consensus candidacy in support of Olubiyi Fadeyi and Adenigba Fadahunsi.” He also stated, “The National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, recently declared publicly that the party’s leaders reserve the right to choose their preferred candidates through a consensus arrangement rather than through primary elections.” He called on party faithful “To remain peaceful, law-abiding, and focused on mobilizing support for the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO),” assuring them that, “All concerns arising from the primary election process would be addressed through appropriate party mechanisms.” The meeting ended with a renewed commitment from supporters to remain united and wo
