Live: 'Ideological disagreement' between Australia and US on tariffs, PM says

The federal government's budget bill has passed the House of Representatives without amendment, but it will need the support of the Greens to pass the next step.

The Greens have raised concerns about the ministerial discretion contained in the budget bill.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says an "ideological disagreement" exists between Australia and the United States on tariffs, after Washington proposed slapping a 12.5 per cent tariff on Australian imports.

Deputy Liberal leader Jane Hume says talk of a right-wing partnership with One Nation is "nonsense".

"The Coalition has been in place for over 80 years and we deliver prosperity for everybody. We will never be One Nation."
