Estonia Debuts AI Chatbots for High School Classrooms

Estonia is launching an initiative called AI Leap 2025, aiming to integrate artificial intelligence tools into its high school education system. Starting in September, an initial group of 20,000 students will gain access to AI assistants designed to support their learning within the Estonian curriculum and language context. This program builds on Estonia's history of digital advancement, similar to the "Tiger Leap" initiative of the 1990s that introduced computers and internet access to schools.

This initiative matters because it proactively equips students with the skills to navigate and utilize emerging AI technologies in an educational setting, fostering digital literacy and preparing them for a future increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.
