Kaduna APC forum backs Tinubu, Uba Sani, Katung for second term

A support group within the All Progressives Congress in Southern Kaduna, the Southern Kaduna Integrity Forum, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Katung, for re-election in 2027. The group, believed to comprise members of the political structure of former senator, Danjuma Laah, said its decision was based on what it described as the developmental strides and leadership qualities demonstrated by the three politicians. Addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Wednesday, the Convener of the forum, Samuel Tajo, said the endorsement followed an assessment of projects and interventions attracted to Southern Kaduna, particularly by Katung. According to him, the group’s support was driven by performance and commitment to development. “The main objective of this movement is the party that matters, not any individual. Shortly after the primary election, we deemed it fit to work with Sunday Marshall Katung because of his activities and achievements within less than three years in office. He has performed excellently,” Tajo said. He cited the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, the Federal Medical Centre and other projects in Southern Kaduna as evidence of effective representation. “Look at the Federal University of Applied Sciences, the Federal Medical Centre and other projects across Southern Kaduna. Through his leadership, there are several development initiatives benefiting Southern Kaduna and beyond,” he added. Tajo dismissed claims that the forum only aligned with Katung after he emerged as the APC candidate, insisting that the group had supported him from the conclusion of the party primaries. “From the inception of the primaries, shortly after the exercise, we deemed it fit to support Sunday Marshall Katung because he is a good man,” he said. The convener also commended the senator for fostering unity across the eight local government areas of Southern Kaduna.
