Samyang's Buldak ramyeon tops 10 bln units sold, 7 tln won in cumulative sales

SEOUL, June 5 (Yonhap) -- Samyang Foods Inc. said Friday that cumulative sales of its Buldak ramyeon series have exceeded 10 billion units and 7 trillion won (US$4.5 billion) since its debut 14 years ago.

The spicy noodle brand was launched in 2012 and has since grown into one of South Korea's most successful food exports.

Initially exported to markets including Japan, Germany and New Zealand, the Buldak series is now sold in about 100 countries around the world.

The series surpassed 1 billion units sold in 2017, exceeded 4 billion units in 2022 and topped the 9 billion mark in 2025 before reaching the latest milestone.

Driven by strong global demand for its Buldak series, Samyang Foods surpassed US$900 million in exports last year and now accounts for about 60 percent of South Korea's ramyeon exports.
