The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), on Thursday (June 4, 2026), conducted surprise inspections at 60 Sub-Registrar Offices (SROs) across Tamil Nadu, taking advantage of the heavy public turnout on an auspicious day for property and document registrations.

According to sources, a large number of registration tokens had been issued across the State owing to the favourable date for land and document registrations, resulting in increased footfall at SROs.

The inspections were conducted simultaneously across the selected offices to curb corrupt practices and ensure transparency in public services. Further details regarding the findings of the searches were awaited.
